Can not see SQL Server in Visual Basic. net (rookie)?
Hello, I'm doing the training video for VB. Net (on the Microsoft website) and The one lesson that I have to connect to SQL Server. This is done by right clicking on the project, go to "Add" -> "New Item" and then select SQL Server. The problem is when I do this, SQL Server is not visible in the list of options to select. The only parts that are visible are the local database and database service. I installed SQL Server Express Edition on my machine properly. We would appreciate any help Hello, I have not given Server Explorer. I have also tried to add a new database in the Database Explorer But that does not seem to work well.
Imports System.Data Imports System.Data.Sql oConn As SqlConnection = New SqlConnection oConn.Open "Provider = SQLOLEDB;" & _ "Server = myservername," & _ "Database = myDatabaseName," & _ "User Id = username;" & _ "Password = mypassword" MsgBox (oConn.state) oConn.Close or create an App_Data folder Click on the same selection 'Add New Item'
