Used to be that to get all the computing power they needed, they needed a desktop computer. But you would be surprised to know that today, a computer notebook is not only as powerful but is even more useful?

And with advances in technology we've seen many in recent months, laptops are very affordable.

As you look in that big pileup taking all the desktop space, why not consider a laptop?

All major manufacturers are: Dell, Gateway, Toshiba, HP, Sony, Lenovo, Compaq and of course, Apple Computer with their counterparts from the MacBook and MacBook Pro computers.

First, however, just what is a laptop?

A lot of people – even come computer manufacturers – the use of laptop and a notebook the words interchangeably. If it does, fine. But conditions are quite different. While both notebooks are designed to be transported from one place to another, a notebook is usually smaller than a laptop. Place the end of a paper note.

Technology has smaller portable, more powerful and more affordable today than even a year ago. You can expect to fiind a solid, reliable laptop for less than $ 1,000, with models entirely out powerhorse Showing a little over $ 2,000.
Laptops can easily be used as substitutes for computers desktop. Many fit into docking stations that hook up to larger screens, bigger energy sources and keyboards and mice. A station coupling in the home or office is a great convenience.

But so is a notebook. That's why for many, is your main computer. From home to school office, on business trips and vacations and – With Wi-Fi Internet connection or PC card modems that patch into the mobile phone network – notebooks always offer the computer facilities and Internet access. All files, all programs, always with you.

As can be seen, laptops have a lot of sense as replacements for desktop PCs. So start shopping. Once you have one, you'll be glad you did and wonder how you got along with one for so long.
